Description
The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons, London, Edinburgh and New York. Undated. Quarter bound in brown leather and blue cloth. The spine has 5 raised bands with gilt lettering. The cloth corners are bumped. The leather is rubbed in places and a small flap is peeling away at the top of the spine. The binding, hinges and joints remain relatively tight. The endpapers are marbled in purple and blue and the print block has brownish red dot spatter decoration to all exposed edges. The print block is clean and unfoxed. The book includes a frontispiece portrait of John Bunyan dated 1628, the ‘Author’s Apology’at the front, an Index at the back and an unpaginated list of Nelson’s Classics.
