Description
An artist’s view of painting and travel in Scotland. Charles Simpson is a full-time painter based in the Scottish Borders. He has been exhibiting in Edinburgh and London for over 25 years. His subject matter is the Scottish landscape, particularly the north west coast and islands as well as the countryside around his home in the Borders. This book describes how he became a painter, his life earning a living as a painter, some of his thoughts on painting and also his travels in Scotland. There are then chapters on his favourite locations in Scotland: Clovenfords & the Scottish Borders, Arisaig to Mallaig, Iona & Mull, Islands, Achiltibuie & the Summer Isles, and the North West. Demonstrated throughout is the integral relationship between his love for travel around the Scottish landscape and his work. The book is illustrated in full colour throughout with his own paintings and photographs. The condition of this book is very good, well illustrated with his work, and only slight corner fraying of the cover in places
