This book contains the history of the Williams family of Edwinsford (together with the histories of their estates and tenant families in Talley, Llansawel and Caio); the Drummond family of Hawthornden Castle in Midlothian near Edinburgh, who intermarried with the Williams family; and the Cary, Hamlyn, Fane, Manners, Asquith and Rous families of CLovelly in Devon, who intermarried with the Williams family. These gentry families had an extraordinary influence on life in Carmarthenshire, Midlothian, and North Devon; many members held high office both nationally and locally over a period of centuries. The book is inscribed by the author on the front endpaper, and separately signed by him on the title page. Hardcover in dust jacket. Both book and jacket have a little edge wear.
